Jennifer Adams, Executive Director

Jennifer Adams is the Executive Director of RISE. As the previous E.D. of both the North County Women’s Shelter and Sexual Assault Recovery & Prevention Center, she saw merging as an opportunity to provide comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Jenny has worked in the field for 15 years, fueled by her passion to create a community free from inter-personal violence. She is a Cal Poly graduate, mother of an adult son, and lover of the Central Coast. She continues to be inspired by survivors, as well as her incredible staff.

Jane Pomeroy, Associate Director

Jane Pomeroy is the Associate Director of RISE. A San Luis Obispo native, Jane has lived and worked in this community for over 20 years. An advocate, activist, and community organizer, Jane has cultivated a passion for building thriving, equitable, and inclusive communities. She began her work in the field of gender based violence when she managed crisis services with the SARP Center. Later, while obtaining her master’s degree in Social Welfare from UC Berkeley, she participated in anti-violence policy and systems change work on college campuses in California and nationally.

RISE is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides crisis intervention and treatment services to survivors of sexual and intimate partner violence and their loved ones. All services are provided confidentially, at low or no cost, to anyone regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or ability. All crisis services are available in Spanish and English. All staff members are mandated reporters and have an obligation to report under the following circumstances: reports of abuse or neglect to minors, dependent adults, elders, as well as if a client is in danger of hurting themself or others.
